jams are proud

Yes, we’re proud of the happiness we have created with others, the ideas and energy we have inspired, but perhaps most importantly the connections we have made along the way.

The University of Winchester evaluation of Creative Minds – People’s Project – commissioned by JAMS provides an insight into our work, we hope that you the reader will enjoy and learn as we have.

We are always striving to develop our work with people living with dementia and improve the service we provide in the care sector. A major component of the Creative Minds Project, funded by the National Lottery – Peoples project 2016-2017, was an evaluation of the training we provided for artists and offered to activity co-ordinators.

The evaluation, written by The University of Winchester, provides an insight into the challenges artists and care staff face, how we address the all-important issue of continued professional development and makes suggestions for our future practice.

It’s a bit surprising what you do. So many people here – in a good way. It makes me feel happy.”

”It’s nice and friendly. I like coming here. It makes me feel nice. I enjoyed singing and dancing. It reminds me of the jitterbug in the town hall.
