What we do, why we do it and how it works.

Over the past couple of years JAMS have developed and provided a variety of carers training programmes. We have done this for Hampshire County Council, Southampton City Council and more recently the Hampshire Hospitals Trust

Whether you require a training programme for a day, a series of weeks or months the training we offer is quite unique; we believe that each individual brings their own creativity, personality and presentation of JAMS’ approach to the training process. In this way we are able to build group dynamics and encourage a creative community which develops and nourishes the creativity and wellbeing of patients, residents and participants from the inside of the organisation out.

At JAMS we are passionate about the wellbeing of staff and using our unique, evidence-based, person-centred approach to training, empowers trainees to develop their own creative flair and leadership skills.

All our bespoke training programmes include:

Evidence based practical exploration

Evidence based theoretical knowledge

Introduce staff to effective implementation of participatory arts to enhance wellbeing.

Empower staff to creatively provide Person-centred care.

Support dementia settings which embrace the arts as an affective, necessary and enjoyable daily occurrence.

In addition, some training options have included:

Introductory training days

Develop online forums to share valuable information

Free training for dementia carers

It will introduce mindful movement techniques and bring awareness to the body and its potential as a resource to help carers maintain presence within their demanding roles.

In the session, participants will explore movement, sensory awareness and their innate body wisdom to support carer wellbeing and making authentic and meaningful connections with residents.  The session will last 2 hours and be presented via an online platform.

Groups are limited to 6 attendees and are strictly first come first served. We need a minimum of 4 people for a workshop to go ahead. Please get in touch to book one of the following sessions available.

In the session you will explore the props and resources, learn additional creative tips and ideas to get the most of of your box to support you and your residents.

We created our Movement & Music Resource box because we haven’t been able to visit you in person and we are aware of how vital it is that residents are given the opportunity to be creative and expressive to ensure good physical and mental health.

Our Movement and Music Resource Box has everything you need to continue providing great inclusive and creative care in these challenging times.

Each box is packed full of beautiful music and movement equipment all of which have been specifically selected to be easy to clean and simple to use.
