sKELETON

We are formed of over 200 bones, collectively known as the skeleton. The skeleton, which is a living system, provides the body with its structure, shape and form. Bringing awareness to the skeletal system will support posture and balance.

Focus: Strengthening bones, improving joint mobility, and grounding the body.

  • Using your hand, gently feel the bone in your lower arm. How many are there? Where does it stop?

  • Take time to feel other accessible bones in the body.

  • Now bring your attention to the joints, the spaces between the bones that allow for movement and expression.

  • Take time to appreciate the movement of the fingers, hands, elbows, shoulders, neck, spine, hips, knees, ankles, feet and toes.

  • From resting, sense your entire skeleton, breath into the bones allow breath to create space.

  • Allow the breath and bones to move together.

  • Enjoy this movement from the bone’s exploration.
