Skin & touch

The skin is our largest organ. It quite literally holds us together. It responds constantly to the environment and through a highly intricate nerve system sends information to the brain.

Focus: Enhancing body awareness, grounding, and sensory perception.

  • With the gentlest of touches stroke the skin on your hands and fingers. Notice if there is a difference in sensation on the palms and backs of hands.

  • Slowly move your hands to feel your skin from the top of your head to the soles of your feet. Notice different fabrics of clothes and sensations.

  • Feel how your skin responds when you lightly brush it against a fabric or let it meet a breeze.

  • Be aware of your easy breath and spacious spine. Sense the skin covering the whole body. When you breath let your skin breath too. Notice how does this feel.

  • As you breath with the skin let the skin move, responding to breath and environment.

  • Imagine the skin rippling like water as your breath flows in and out.
